Bashment sounds to rule the night.
Back in 2012 we first worked with the Brooklyn transplant and Los Angeles based dancehall artist Juakali on his single ‘Crossin’, which was produced by none other than the luminaries Mumdance & Ac Slater. This year Juakali is back with an equally catchy, yet raw and club-like single ‘Rule The Night’, produced by the Nashville based talent Secrect Agent Gel.
Juakali is a singer and MC from Trinidad and is known primarily for his musical output in the dubstep and dancehall genres in the US. He’s traveled the world performing, collaborating with cutting edge artists and igniting audiences in Tokyo, Johannesburg, Amsterdam, even Mumbai, to name a few spots. In the words of Mary Anne Hobbs - “ A performance that deals with the most fascinating melt of sound - beats and bass laced with the elemental voice of Juakali, pure heaven.”
Juakali has worked with producers such as 12th Planet, Cardopusher, Dread Bass Soundsystem, and released on labels like Houndstooth, SMOG, Foreign Familiar, and more.
Remixes in the pack come from Top Billin family member Nobel with his euro-club take on the original and ErrorE’s aka Joro Boro’s deep and majorly dubby version to make them speakers tweak. We’re happy to be working with Juakali again because dancehall, bashment and bass is what we administer to club audiences year after year.
