Just a recap in case you’re neck deep in your Migos and Future game: Ghetto house is a distinct genre that began in the early 90s when Chicago producers, inspired by Miami bass and their city's house scene, started making basic percolator-esque house tracks with some often filthy and crude club chants added. It remains one of our favourite ever musical genres. Legend producers like DJ Deeon, DJ Funk, DJ Slugo, Traxmen, Green Velvet, Paul Johnson , DJ Milton, Eric Martin and many more made classic tracks that gave way to rise of the genre.
The ghetto house / booty house genre has also been alive and well in Europe since the early 2000s, championed by France’s Bootycall records, UK’s Night Slugs and of course by us since the inception of Top Billin. That’s why it’s once again great to make way for more talent like PG Baur. His warm analog and vintage processed sound explores through his house music roots and love for club music. Drifting from raw punchy deep house to ethnic rhythms or soul sampled gems, PG Baur is exactly what the European ghetto house scene needs right now.
