Sometimes the best beats can be found right in your own backyard, or in this case the Top Billin backyard as we bring you the debut ep from Finnish producer Stick.
As a label for upbeat tracks, we don't often release slower beats-based music but when we get a chance to do that, we get excited. Especially if the beats are laced with lots of influences from hip-hop and club music fused together. Top Billin came from the vision that we could combine the best of both worlds and this new release does exactly that.
Born and bred just outside Helsinki in the great village of Vihti, 20 year old producer Stick has his roots tightly in hip-hop and club music like Jersey Club and Bmore, as well as Joker's synth-filled dubstep vibes. Nowadays drawing influences from producers like Rustie, Wave Racer, HudMo or DJ Mustard, his music is what we call future club, full of interesting melodies, feelings and details. Stick's productions for local rappers have been well noted with his latest beat having 800K plays in Youtube, which is pretty damn impressive for a guy his age.
If you're a club DJ, a radio DJ, or a wonderful ruffneck who enjoys music without boundaries and gets down at the club when the bass drops, we're certain you will enjoy this release. There's a million producers in the world right now, but we're happy to get to work with the ones who take pride in their craft and use enough time to make their tracks sound good at the club as well as the radio. The future of beat making is strong in Finland and we couldn't be more proud.
