DJ and party culture has melted in on itself, full of mediocre talent with stellar marketing teams, innovators have made their pension plans and social media matters more than the music. But not for Paul Oja.
Throughout his career, Paul Oja has engaged with two distinct traditions in particular, that of hip-hop, and that of dance music. And while the currents are taking him somewhat in the direction of pop music, we clearly hear the influence of punk and metal roots in his music.
A true Top Billin family member, and somewhat a living legend in his hometown of Tallinn, Estonia, he has spent the last decades driven by his own vision of future club music, a sound we have not come across anywhere else.
The techniques and craftsmanship that he has honed over the course of his métier have become his signature qualities, and this release is yet another step forward in his career; a proof that in 2017 he’s as current as ever.
And while writing this at our office, a car is driving past blasting tracks from his previous release (no joke). All this warms our heart so much, and we’re more than happy again to work with one of our finest For that same warm feeling, that’s also has been missing in music lately, download this mini album and grab the vinyl as it comes from press.
