Following up the forward-thinking Trekkie Trax compilation, we bring you the first solo release from the crew with garage specialist Carpainter.
Is garage house from Tokyo called JP Garage? We'd like to think so. This spring we released a great 8-track compilation of underground club music from Tokyo by the infamous Trekkie Trax crew, mainly focused on house, club and juke trax, plus 1 track on the compilation was a mix of London house and garage. Garage has never had a huge foothold in Japan, yet we can find great producers there, like the one of the most talented members of the Trekkie Trax crew, Carpainter.
As the little brother of Trekkie trax boss Seimei Kawai, and other half of Seimei & Taimei, Carpainter is a producer with many styles, but his main focus is on garage house, broken beats and heavy bass. This young talented producer has released tracks previously on Japan's famous Maltine Records and Idiot Pop, which placed him 2nd on the album chart of Japanese iTunes store. In addition to producing killer tunes, Carpainter is the co-founder of Trekkie Trax and hosts his radio show Rewind on Tokyo's famous Block FM.
No matter the country, garage house keeps the kids dancing and Carpainter is a true believer in bass music. This is our second project with the famous Trekkie Trax and it does not disappoint, these guys are re-writing the history of Japanese dance music and we're very excited to be part of it.
