about
New heat from Parisian Club Cheval member and a Top Billin knight Sam Tiba and South Africa's finest (and the Fader cover star), Spoek Mathambo. Magnificent club raps with booming basses. Sam Tiba tells what's up:
“We’re in a time where it’s not surprising to pay tribute to the most recent past. Let’s pay tribute to 2009. This bass. This 4×4 rhythm. I can’t really describe the track. I remember smoking a lot of weed at that time. The original riddim was sampling this sentence from a track : “I got the nice green, yea i got the nice green”. True, I got the nice green. But it missed a voice. A friend’s voice. Met Spoek Mathambo from South Africa. Nicest guy ever, with a mad talent. He laid voices. We made this track. Worked on a chorus. Got emotional. Sent it to Top Billin homies, they lovin it. Later, Top Billin Music releases it. Is it old ? Is it recent ? I don’t really care. This is something I’ve done. This is something a family’s done. Hate it, love it, we still burnin’ anyways.”
